Compatibility With Other Signs

The following interpretations are based solely on Sun signs and cover all twelve possible pairings with Taurus. While this is a limited approach—as we noted in a previous lesson on synastry, starting with compatible Sun-sign elements is still a useful foundation for assessing overall harmony in a relationship.

The core principle is that yin and yang signs do not naturally align: yin pairs best with yin, and yang with yang. Relationships between yin and yang can succeed, but they tend to demand more effort. Earth and water signs are yin, while fire and air signs are yang.

Taurus and Aries

Taurus (yin) and Aries (yang) form a yin-yang pair. If both partners are willing to work at it, Taurus's sensuality can merge with Aries's life force. In a healthy relationship, they can complement each other—but they must learn to respect their natural differences. Aries is impulsive, combative, and action-oriented; Taurus is focused and moves slowly but steadily. With effort, this pairing can succeed.

Taurus and Taurus

Two Taureans can make a relationship work, provided they remember that neither is naturally inclined toward action. The risk is that they become so comfortable at home that they grow disconnected from social life, or even bored as their preferred routine turns into a rut. This relationship will need movement.

Taurus and Gemini

Taurus and Gemini have a hard time understanding each other's basic needs because their natures are so different. Gemini represents expansion, movement, inconstancy, and infidelity; Taurus is the opposite. They will clash repeatedly, but if love is truly what binds them, they can smooth things over and build a relationship with some stability.

Taurus and Cancer

Taurus and Cancer can form an excellent relationship because they support each other in valuable ways. Taurus provides material security for Cancer, while Cancer offers emotional support and inspires Taurus to keep working for their home. Cancer also feels emotionally protected by the material security Taurus provides.

Taurus and Leo

Taurus and Leo will find a relationship difficult to sustain because their natures are opposed. However, with time and room to grow, they can learn to complement each other. Understanding each other will be a challenge: Leo has social needs and is opinionated and commanding, while Taurus needs introspection and is accommodating.

Taurus and Virgo

Taurus and Virgo make an excellent match with strong potential for stability and solidity. As two earth signs, they share many qualities and similar tastes: both love the home, enjoy planning projects, strive for self-improvement, cultivate their minds, and analyze expenses and household demands. They should be careful, though, not to fall into a rut.

Taurus and Libra

A Taurus-Libra relationship is not highly recommended because each partner may feel destabilized by the other's different qualities. Taurus is firm, secure, and solid ground; Libra is change, movement, and constant doubt. Whenever Taurus needs certainty, Libra will introduce doubt. Even so, it is worth trying if love is present.

Taurus and Scorpio

When Taurus and Scorpio come together, the passion, sensuality, and eroticism can be extraordinarily wonderful. But in everyday life, certain situations can create speed bumps. Scorpio is too controlling, and Taurus will not tolerate the emotional stings Scorpio is sure to deliver. For this relationship to work, Scorpio must respect Taurus as they are.

Taurus and Sagittarius

A Taurus-Sagittarius relationship can be summed up in five words: difficult, difficult, and more difficult. Their needs are very different. Perhaps when they are older and have matured, they may come to understand each other. But in their younger years, they will not figure out how to move the relationship forward while also feeling comfortable with each other and with their own lives. Sagittarius does not understand Taurus's motto: “Slowly but surely.”

Taurus and Capricorn

Taurus and Capricorn are two earth signs that complement each other excellently. They will greatly enjoy this relationship because they will do it the way they like: taking it step by step, planning each move, perfecting what works, enjoying a movie at home, and reaching the top triumphantly. Everything is in their favor to build a stable relationship.

Taurus and Aquarius

A Taurus-Aquarius relationship can bear fruit with a lot of work and a huge dose of patience. Their natures collide over Aquarius's freedom and independence versus Taurus's focus on home and relationship. But if each yields a little, they may come to understand that there are times when each needs to be alone without implying that they have stopped loving each other.

Taurus and Pisces

Although Taurus and Pisces are both yin, this is a difficult relationship to get off the ground. They must give a lot of themselves to understand their different natures. Taurus is primarily a material being, focused on the material world; Pisces, on the other hand, is a spiritual being. Although Pisces also requires the material, its focus is on transcending it. If they learn to complement each other, they will both feel safe and protected.

Taurus in Love and Passion

After overcoming the initial difficulties inevitable in any emotional relationship, Taurus drops their guard and immediately feels comfortable enough to give free rein to their sensuality.

They consider sexual activity a basic need, like eating or drinking. As lovers, they behave with spontaneity and generosity, and often show a surprising passion. Sexual dissatisfaction affects them more than other signs and puts them in a very bad mood.

They love to dress up and dine in fancy restaurants. They spare no expense when it comes to having fun and only settle for the best. A partner of a Taurus can expect a life of style.

Faithful and trustworthy, they do not usually look for a paramour, because above all they aspire to maintain a stable relationship. They feel insecure if their partner does not give themself body and soul.

Taurus in Marriage

Marriage is a commitment Taurus takes very seriously. They want their relationship to be stable and long-lasting. Given their pragmatism, they plan things out well in advance. They usually decide to get married in church and have a big ceremony.

Over the years some Taurus men become a little possessive. They think their partner belongs to them, and some go to the extreme of controlling all their actions. When that happens, it’s best to stop them in their tracks.

Otherwise, a wife of Taurus has nothing to worry about. Her wishes are his command, and he is her loyal and attentive husband.

Taurus women provide their partners with constant and unconditional support. Sooner or later they end up forming a family, which does not prevent them from continuing to cultivate their many interests, some of which could become more than just a hobby. Those who marry a Taurus woman will enjoy the company of a loving and hardworking woman.
